The Power of the Ellipsis

It's What Isn't Said that Says the Most

Temperance XIV

All In Good Time

You are exceptional amongst the many, over twenty.
Once split, you were the one in between.
Number fourteen.
A number alone doesn’t quite you capture.
Your significance is in your stature.

When I saw you, I knew,
That you felt what I have been going through.
You with your beautiful silver lining,
Telling me clearly that it’s all in good timing.

And your timing could not have been more perfect.

I study your lines, all the elegance of your face.
Gaze upon all your colors, all your shapes.
Yes, you are in the right place.
Your radiance reads of promise upon first glance.
That all is not lost. There is yet another chance.

Do you have the answers?

I close my eyes for merely a moment
To look deep into my mind.
While you remain patient, serene, stoic, heroic.
It’s the questions I must find.

So silently, yet so clearly you whisper to me
To open my ears to hear and my eyes to see.
To look beyond the cover, though glorious, it may be.
I yearn for what’s inside.

What do you have to tell me?

I consult with the stars, the eternal wisdom they contain.
Fixed in space and time forever they remain.
Patience. Harmony. Balance. Stability. Clarity.
“Slow down. All in good time.
Don’t forget who you are.”
The timing is mine.

“Pause and listen to that voice you know like your own.
The answers aren’t yet written in stone.
Yes, things are already in motion, cogs have begun to turn.
But still, you already know the questions,
And the answers for which you yearn.”

“Inside is where you will find,
Those mysteries of your mind.
It seems perhaps you’ve lost a bit of you.
Lost sight of what you set out to do.”

“On your path to find yourself,
You’ve lost bits of yourself along the way.
It’s time to go back and pick them up,
Put them back in place. Today.

“That is what I have to say.”

I have been having an incredibly difficult time finding balance in my life. Because I have worked with the Tarot for over a decade, I decided to pull the Universe back into my life by drawing a single card each morning to provide me with a bit of guidance, direction on which things to focus on for that day specifically.

Temperance was especially significant in not only its interpretation, but the fact that it is one of only 22 cards of the Major Arcana in a 76-card deck. The Major Arcana are first recognized by their stature that there are factors already in play for which we have little control over. We have to trust and be patient while they play out. Time. Patience. More inner work is needed. It was just what I needed to calm my storm a bit…
